150 Years in the Making ! The Woman's Friend Society 150 Gala

Please join us for an evening celebrating 150 years of women empowering women. The event will feature live music, signature cocktails (including "Raise the Roof!"), a three-course dinner, and a silent auction, all hosted in the Maritime Ballroom.

We are honored to welcome our guest speakers: Beverly Cooper-Pierce, author of The Rowans, and
Renee Blacken, an adventurer and the first woman to row the Atlantic Dash.

In addition, we will debut three new awards:

  - The Kate Tannatt Woods Award: Founded following an 1875 call to action by Salem schoolteacher Kate Tannatt Woods, this award recognizes a woman who demonstrates exceptional dedication to supporting those in need.
      - Recipient: Rachel Lutts, President of the Samaritan Charitable Society of Salem
  - The Jennie Emmerton Award: Named in honor of the 19th-century philanthropist who donated Emmerton House, this award recognizes a woman who embodies her legacy of generosity, compassion, and dedication to the community.
      - Recipient: Felicia Pierce, Chief Executive Officer for North Shore CDC
  - The Emmerton House Award: This award honors an individual who has made a meaningful impact on the residents of Emmerton House.
      - Recipient: To be announced at the Gala
