Underwater in Salem Sound: European Green Crabs- An Invasive Menace in New England

Join Salem Sound Coastwatch and the Abbot Public Library on Wednesday, February 27th from 7-8:30 pm for the second presentation in the Underwater in Salem Sound Lecture Series, "European Green Crabs- An Invasive Menace." Dr. Alan Young, Professor of Biology at Salem State University, will share his expertise and local research on the European green crab. He will discuss the invasion of green crabs in New England – where they came from and how they got here; population dynamics – will ocean warming increase their numbers; impacts of these crabs in Salem Sound and possible control measures.
