            • Shared Spaces: Maintaining History in Condo Living

              Historic New England and Historic Salem, Inc. are teaming up to help condominium owners preserve historic integrity in shared spaces. Sally Zimmerman, a preservation expert from Historic New England will share information on creating a priority project list and exterior projects—including paint selection. Interior designer Elizabeth Randall will focus on selecting historically appropriate details, furnishings, and treatments and Julie Arrison of the Phillips House Museum will share her real-life examples of working with a condominium association boards to best preserve a historic Salem building. Each guest receives a packet of resources, including Historic New England color charts. Workshop attendees are also welcome to bring along photographs of projects or planned projects for brief consultation with preservation experts.
               
              Shared Spaces will take place at the Phillips House Museum, 34 Chestnut Street, from 10:00 a.m. – noon on Saturday, May 2. The cost is $25.00 for the general public, $20 for members of Historic New England or Historic Salem, Inc., and $15 for members of Historic New England’s Young Friends or Historic Homeowner member groups.
