Art in Lappin Park - Salem 400+ Event

Gulu-Gulu Cafe will host an “Art in the Park” day where the community can participate in various types of art (drawing, collage, painting etc..) in Lappin Park! This event will engage people to take a closer look at the buildings that surround the downtown area in Lappin Park. Many people are focused on the Samantha statue, and while that is a wonderful focal point, many rarely look up and around at the architecture surrounding them. The downtown area is rich with various styles, lines, forms that can be incorporated into art. The rich history of these buildings will be showcased. This location is considered by many to be the “center of downtown”. The event will be facilitated by locals artists. Feel free to bring your own supplies, or use what is on hand!
