DESCRIPTION:Join others from across the globe for the 13th annual virtual conference: LGBTQ+ Elders in an Ever-Changing World.\n\nAgeSpan is hosting this popular event in partnership with Good Shepherd Community Care\, the LGBTQIA+ Aging Project Fenway Health\, and the Salem State University School of Social Work on Thursday\, June 20\, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.\n\n \n\nThe one-day conference focuses on interdisciplinary practice and community engagement for people working with lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, transgender\, queer/questioning + older adults\, and caregivers. LGBTQ+ people interested in their own aging or caregiving needs are invited to attend.\n\nThis year's theme is "Bridges to Belonging: Fostering Inclusivity and Identity in LGBTQ+ Aging" and features keynote speaker Robyn Ochs\, an educator\, speaker\, and grassroots activist. She is the editor of Bi Women Quarterly and two anthologies: Getting Bi: Voices of Bisexuals Around the World and RECOGNIZE: The Voices of Bisexual Men.\n\nOchs is an advocate for the rights of people of all orientations and genders to live safely\, openly and with full access and opportunity. Her work focuses on increasing awareness and understanding of complex identities and mobilizing people to be powerful allies to one another within and across identities and social movements\, with special interest in bi+ health\, the experiences of bi+ people in the workplace\, the global bi+ movement\, bi+ elders\, and bi and LGBTQIA+ youth.\n\nConference attendees can select from nine workshops on topics ranging from intergenerational storytelling\, addressing social isolation and support among transgender and gender diverse older adults\, and the importance of inclusion in the research of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.\n\nThe cost for the conference ranges from $25 for seniors and students to $95 for an option that includes CEUs.
