Salem Fall Restaurant Week 2011
Sunday, Nov. 6 - Thursday, Nov. 10 & Sunday, Nov. 13 to Thursday, Nov. 17
Salem Fall Restaurant Week is set to kick off on Sunday, November 6, featuring the best local cuisine at value pricing. For 10 days only, participating Salem area restaurants will offer either a two-course prix-fixe dinner menu for $15, or a three-course prix-fixe dinner menu for $25, or both (note that this price does not include drinks, taxes or gratuities). Menus will post posted shortly.
Salem has become a culinary destination and people really look forward to this event. Expect a wide variety of delicious foods - from steak to seafood, American to ethnic, there is something for everyone.
Restaurants offer multiple choices for appetizers, entrees as well as desserts. Reservations are encouraged, please contact the restaurants directly. Mention "Restaurant Week" when making your reservations.

Located in Lyceum Hall in the historic downtown district, 43 Church graces the cobblestone streets of Salem in a building with a lot of history. The Lyceum Hall served as Salem’s community lecture hall, where ideas and debates on politics, society, technology and science flourished. It is perhaps fitting, then, that the idea behind 43 Church is to serve people who love a fine steakhouse but are turned off by the brassy steakhouse attitude – a restaurant that serves truly great food and lets it speak for itself.

The Great Escape Restaurant is housed in what, at one time, was America’s oldest active jail. The jail was built in 1813 and remained open until February 1991. It was an active jail for 177 years, housing an unknown number of criminals. Great Escape Restaurant opened September 20, 2010 and features a menu created by Chef Fredie Barbosa. The restaurant was designed with a jail theme featuring brick walls, the original two foot thick granite floor, a bar made out of recycled cell doors, and cell bars all around.
