About Us
Fame is a full-scale representation of a successful privateer schooner from the War of 1812. The original Fame seized over 20 prizes off Nova Scotia and New Brunswick before being wrecked in 1814.
Launched in 2003 from the Burnham Boatyard in Essex, MA, our Fame cruises on historic Salem Sound, offering public sails, private charters, and educational programming. Fame is the top-ranked boat and the top-ranked outdoor activity in Salem according to TripAdvisor. Our locally-owned family business earned "Best of the Best" awards from TripAdvisor the last two years!
