    SUMMARY: Each employee is responsible and accountable for demonstrating a commitment to the company’s mission statement. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Meet with customers to open and/or service accounts, and provide assistance as needed. Process all deposits, withdrawals, renewals, transfers, and checks. Set up new accounts; enter information into computer, and create files. Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the various computer programs such as the bank operating systems, BankerInsight and TellerInsight, as well as the Retirement System in order to provide effective and efficient service to our customers both internal and external. Monitor the various retirement department Metavante reports on a daily basis. Make any corrections, and perform any maintenance as is necessary. Maintain accuracy of both the hard copy files and computer files. Make changes as necessary. Maintain and store open and closed files as required by IRS code for proper bank and IRS compliance. Enter and maintain Excel records/databases for various categories, e.g., 70 1/2 distributions. Use Word as necessary for forms and/or customer letters. As needed, prepare any notices, amendments, documents required by both IRS regulation and/or banking regulation, and prepare and provide the required documentation of such processes. This would include (but not limit to) maturity notices, annual withholding notices, RMD notices, etc. Process withdrawal requests from customers and branches. Check each withdrawal for proper IRS reporting information. Take proper action such as: closeout of file, partial distribution, etc. Monitor the annual required minimum distribution process assuring that each customer receives the proper dollar amount as set by IRS regulation. Calculate and set up RMDs for those reaching 70 1/2 in a given year. Give assistance as needed, to customers and/or branch personnel in completing election of payment forms. Process the repeat distributions on the schedule the customer requested such as: monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, and annually. Check all distribution accounts on a regular basis to be sure they meet requirements as set by both IRS and bank policy. Process incoming and outgoing Trustee Transfers. Complete and send forms to other institutions as requested. Work with Department Manager in the year-end processing procedure in respect to form 1099R and 5498 series, and statements for both customers and IRS. Provide customer service by responding to telephone inquiries from customers and branch personnel. Provide problem resolution as necessary. Support the branches and bank personnel with Retirement related questions. Attend training and/or workshops as necessary to keep current in Retirement field information, including new products, laws, regulations, etc. Demonstrates compliance with banking business laws and regulations as defined in company policies and procedures pertinent to the position. Assist department manager with special projects as requested. Regular attendance is essential to this position. Assumes additional responsibilities as requested. NON ESSENTIAL DUTIES SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
