    Event Description:
    Salem Sound Coastwatch presents our 2018 Trails and Sails “Walk and Talk,” The Forest River: Off the Beaten Path, Saturday, September 22nd from 10-11:30am. Walk the Forest River and explore a hidden gem that is right in our own back yard. Stroll along the river winding its way through salt marsh, an abundant habitat for many fish and birds. Take in the view of Salem from the top of Eagle Hill and learn about this body of water that flows into Salem Harbor. Wear shoes that can get muddy. Participants should be able to walk approximately 1 mile. We will meet at the trail head located in the parking lot at 99 Harrison Rd, Salem, MA. This event is part of Essex National Heritage Area’s Trails & Sails program, two weekends of free tours, demonstrations, walks and more throughout Essex County.
