Salem State's Arts Speakers Series continues with Karen Hampton discussing "Making the Invisible Visible." Event is free, registration is required. Register in advance at salemstatetickets.com. Karen Hampton is an internationally recognized conceptual fiber artist, addressing issues of colorism and kinship within the African American community. Her art practice is the synthesis of memory, history, time and cloth. She is an assistant professor in the Fibers program at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design and is a trustee for the Textile Society of America. Salem State art + design professor Antwon Key will serve as moderator. Arts Speakers Series - Guests will speak on a range of topics including arts and identity, arts and social justice, arts and healing, and arts in the time of a pandemic.
